The monthly workshop on the above topic is conducted by the SAAWB with video graphics presentations. Participants come from all cross sections, highly literate to ordinary ones and some of them having spiritual basis and others are atheists. But through some practice this workshop makes them gradually known of Sri Aurobindo's vision and practice of inner opening to become an integrated individual to hasten collective development.
A meet at Siliguri organized by New St. John's High School was organized on 11th & 12th November 2017 where Sri Aurobindo"s Action West Bengal was invited to conduct day-long meets - the first day with parents and guardians of New St. John's High School and the second day with principals and teachers of some of the english medium schools of the area to deliberate on the Educational thoughts of Sri Aurobindo & The Mother and their relevance today. The whole day programmes were very eagerly received by both parents as well as principals and teachers who were exposed for the first time to the topic.
The two-day State Conference was held on 4th-5th November 2017 at an educational institution situated at Hura in Purulia district, away from the din and bustle, surrounded by charming beauty of nature. Centre representatives as well as individuals directly engaged in work of Sri Aurobindo Centres in West Bengal participated for intensive evaluations on how can we overcome from our present predicaments and tasks within our own limits - by a methodical co-ordination on the basis of broad common minimum programme mutually.
Execution and arrangements of the conference were quite good. Dr. Soumitra Basu held a few sessions with the participants which were immensely beneficial. The other positives of the conference were the bonding of participants which took place could create a synergy for successful implementation of programmes. Domjur Centre planned to take up a few workshops on overcoming stress, depression, relationship matters, in the light of teachings of Sri Aurobindo & The Mother aimed at the youth. A few requirements of collaboration in the area of education involving centres like Purulia, Dogachia, New Alipore (Kolkata) and a school in Burdwan following the ideal and ideas of The Mother have been discussed. Though it was felt that some more sessions were needed to discuss matters and whether programmes could be taken up on collaborative basis.
The 11th Foundation Day of Sri Aurobindo's Action West Bengal was celebrated on 29th July (Saturday) at Sri Aurobindo Hall of Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, Shakespeare Sarani - Kolkata. Initiating the session, Sri Subrata Sen, Secretary, deliberated on the activities being undertaken by the organization. He also stressed on the need to overcome the problems being faced. The newly designed website of the organization was inaugurated by Sri Bama Prasad Puitandy, Managing Trustee of Sri Aurobindo Kendra, Purulia, special guests for the occasion. Dr. Soumitra Basu, eminent psychiatrist and Aurobindonian delivered a talk on topic "Sri Aurobindo & the Modern World" where with the help of a presentation he elaborated on the relevance of the thoughts and views of Sri Aurobindo today. Sri Biswajit Ganguli, Managing member of Sri Aurobindo Bhavan Kolkata spoke on the topic "Sri Aurobindo & us". The Annual Number 2016-2017 was also published and made available.
A Teachers' Meet at Ambari (near Siliguri) on 23rd June 2016 was organized where Sri Aurobindo"s Action West Bengal (represented by Sri Subrata Sen) was invited along with Sri Aurobindo Bal Mandir (represented by Sri Partha Sarathi Bose) to conduct a day-long meet with teachers from primary schools of the area on the theme : Educational thoughts of Sri Aurobindo & The Mother. The whole day programme was very eagerly received by teachers of the area who were exposed for the first time to the topic.
A Seminar on Human Resource Development - a premise now extensively admired by the students in higher education with its implication ever mounting in every sphere of life - was held in the light of Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo and The Mother (in Bengali) presented by the panel of speakers Sri Partha Sarathi Bose and Sri Anurag Banerjee at Sri Aurobindo Hall of Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, Kolkata on 16th May 2015.
